Using this site

A short, plain-English summary of what this site is, what it isn't, and the rules of the road. We've tried to keep it readable.

The short version

  • Information, not advice — this site explains what NHS Pharmacy First covers. It does not give you personal medical advice.
  • Always speak to your GP, pharmacist or NHS 111 for anything that affects you personally.
  • Call 999 in an emergency.
  • Free to use, no log-in — by anyone, anywhere. We're a UK service so the information is for UK readers.
  • Written by an NHS GP — Dr Krishnan Pasupathi, GMC 6050795, NHS GP Partner.

Who runs this site

Aryash Health Limited runs pharmacy.aryash.health. We are a UK company. Our public contact is feedback@aryash.health.

This site is part of the Aryash Patient Health Explainer — a UK-registered, Class I medical device for patient education. The Pharmacy First section forms Module 5 of that device. The umbrella Intended Use Statement is published on aryash.health/intended-use.html and the Instructions for Use on aryash.health/ifu.html.

What this site is

A plain-English explainer of the NHS Pharmacy First service in England. For each of the seven conditions covered, it tells you:

  • What the condition is
  • Whether the pharmacist can see you (age, eligibility)
  • Whether the pharmacist can't see you (exclusions)
  • Red flags — when to get urgent help instead
  • What the pharmacist will ask you
  • What treatment they may give you
  • What to do if you don't get better

It's the kind of thing you might once have asked your GP receptionist about — written down in plain English, available to read whenever you need it.

What this site is NOT

  • Not personal medical advice. It does not take a history, ask about your symptoms, or tell you what to do based on what you describe.
  • Not a substitute for a clinician. Always speak to your GP, your pharmacist, or call NHS 111 for anything that affects you personally.
  • Not for emergencies. Call 999 in a medical emergency.
  • Not a Pharmacy First booking system. To use the service, walk in to a pharmacy that offers it, or call ahead.
If you think you might be having an emergency — chest pain, severe difficulty breathing, signs of stroke, severe allergic reaction, suicidal thoughts — call 999 immediately. Don't read the rest of this page first.
